Apple v. Dell

Way back when—October 6, 1997, to be exact—Michael Dell was asked what he'd do if he were running Apple. His reply? “What would I do? I'd shut it down and give the money back to the shareholders.”

As of the close of market today, Apple Computer, Inc. is worth more than Dell, Inc.

Apple is worth $161,720,000 more than Dell.

Tipping point or technicality? You decide.

Innovation will eventually win out. Glad to know Dull's fallen behind. Next stop, Micro$oft. Did you notice they retired Window's Media Player for Mac?

I love Apple and I hope their strategy continues to earn them market share.

Nevertheless, I think that Microsoft dropping products for Macs is bad for Apple, no matter how you look at it. Especially considering the amount of platform proprietary DRM that's going into Microsoft's products these days. Who's going to want to buy a Mac if have the video (porn) available won't play on anything but Windows?

I just hope the plugin that's rumored supports DRMed media playback on Macs. Otherwise, we could be headed back down that road where website content is only available to Windows users, etc, etc, etc....
